Use this tool to see very approximately where the train you are on, or waiting for, is on the National Rail network. It works by calculating a position by interpolation between the previous and next known locations (normally timing points that are also stations, although not necessarily where the train stops) and then adjusting the position to the nearest railway line. This means that the location indicated may jump between lines when close to junctions or around areas with a high railway density, but works well otherwise. Use the station finder to locate trains to follow from live arrival and departure boards.
